The 6540’s 4-wheel hydrostatic service brake (actuated by reversing the tram pedal) and the independent 4-wheel spring applied wet disc parking brake operated by the Brake Tender with tram interlock, meets CFR30-75, 1909 B-C Brake Law for Heavy Duty Diesel Equipment.
The Operator’s compartment includes fuel gauge, voltage gauge, oil pressure gauge, brake pressure gauge, keyless ignition, fire suppression status, parking brake warning light, horn switch, circuit breaker, PTO switch, hour meter, Auxiliary PTO lever, Brake Tender, with tram and interlock, portable fire extinguisher and fold down seat. These features help meet CFR30.75-1909 A2-10. Lo Trac’s automatic fire suppression includes 2 manual actuators, automatic detection, status and engine shutdown to meet CFR 30.75-1911. The third tank is the portable fire extinguisher. The LT-6540 has fuses and battery disconnects that meet MSHA CFR30-75.1910. The machine has left hand steering and right hand joystick for the arms’ lift and tilt functions. A two-toe treadle controls forward/reverse speeds.
